August 2010
I started the last Newsletter with ‘Didn’t the winter hang around this year?’
Well the dry weather is now doing similar, although to be fair we did have a fair bit of the wet stuff yesterday. The hot weather, the World Cup and the thought of BBQ’s has kept a few away from the lakes compared to normal. Having spent the last 30 years of my life in this trade it has always been quite noticeable the drop in anglers during the world cup period.
For my own fishing this has been great as I have been enjoying a decent choice of swim for a change and have stacked quite a few captures up these past few weeks trying different baits and different ingredients whilst fishing relatively short sessions with the odd night grabbed between work days.
A lovely two tone common.

Perfect start to the day! |

Trying a few things out. |
As for captures from Quest Baits users – well they just get better and better!
I will mention just two although I am going to have to be particularly careful about one due to publicity bans etc but really want to mention them as they represent U.K. carp fishing at its very best and possibly better than many are aware it could be.
Said angler who is in fact one of our Field Testers (probably said too much now) has landed an incredible brace consisting of a 52lb 4oz Mirror and a 50lb 4oz Common on the Rahja Spice. Need I say more? That bait just keeps going on and on and was the biggest seller for us over the last three years until we released the Chilli Chocolate this year. Now the captures on this have been nothing short of astounding!
61lb 8oz

Check this out....
In just one day Marc Twaite put an amazing catch of fish together whilst fishing in France. He had been doing so well with the Chilli Chocolate back here in England that he didn’t bother taking any other boilie with him. Get ready for this – yes just one days fishing...
61.08 (common), 54.10, 53.06, 53.00, 51.12, 50.10, 7 x 40’s to 47 and a 37!
I don’t think I have ever seen another single day catch to top that one, particularly with a 61lb 8oz common thrown in. Apart from that mind blowing day which used up a lot of his bait Marc also caught another 10 carp. That one days capture would make many anglers proud to announce from a lifetime of angling. Well done Marc, I won’t mention you have been back over to a different water and caught another silly amount of fish. The above takes enough sinking in!
Marc isn’t scared to pile the bait in and the above just goes to show what is possible if you feed them well with something they really want - top angling!
Pimple Pops
|
'Here is a sneak preview of our new 'Pimple Pops' and 'Pimple Dots' which
will be released this Autumn. To give an idea of size the size of these tiny
attractor baits the three boilies in the picture are 10mm, 15mm and 20mm.
Another one of my winter edges now available to all!'
Space in this newsletter seems to have been taken with the captures above but they both so warrant the space.
As always we are working away with new projects and ideas. We have some quite interesting things in the pipeline for release next year. Some items we have been asked to add to the range and others we have been playing around with in secret. Just a few more tweaks here and there on some of them and we will be ready to roll – literally! |
Best fishes
